Jiajia Wu joins Columbia Road

Hi Jiajia, How did you get good at what you do?

I have a degree in International Business Administration, majoring in Marketing and Public Relations, and over 10 years of work experience. Before joining Columbia Road, I’ve worked in various human resource and operational positions for different companies, Huawei for example. I love to continuously educate myself and continue growing in the HR field. Which is why I joined Columbia Road! HR has always been something that I absolutely enjoy doing – being at the intersection of information and people.

Where have you earned your spurs?

I very much enjoy being around people from different cultures and professions, which has taught me a lot about different fields, especially in the creative, technology and business domains. Speaking three languages and coming from an international background has been a big asset in communication as well as understanding people in a diverse environment. One of my bigger achievements has been being involved in developing global HR and payroll systems, and training colleagues in Scandinavia to use the system. It was very rewarding to see the results.

What makes your heart beat a little faster?

“I love to travel and explore the world, especially to enjoy architecture and food! During summer I adore taking care of my ‘petite Jardin de Versailles’ at my backyard, and during the winter I have my 40+ indoor plants to tend to. Flowers and indoor plants make life so much better! I suppose one could say I have a green thumb when it comes to taking care of plants, but similarly a love for taking care of our workspace and making our people grow,” says Jiajia.
